MUA Undress Your Skin Highlighter: REVIEW

For about the past year I have read numerous blog posts about MUA's "Undress Your Skin Highlighter" but have been unable to get my hands on one until recently, and it was completely worth the wait!

Part of me has always been a little bit scared of highlighter; I always fear that I'll end up looking like Edward Cullen, however I have finally been converted and decided to start with baby steps and purchase MUA Undress your Skin as it is only £3 (so it wouldn't be a huge loss if I hated it!) from Superdrug Stores, Website and directly from MUA's website.

The first thing that drew me to this product was simply how beautiful it looks in the pan, and actually really reminds me of the MAC Extra Dimension MSF with the raised, swirled, shell-like pattern (this looked a lot better when I first purchased it - mine is in a bit of a state now after having been shown some love for the past couple of months!). Secondly the colour is just soo pretty - it is a gorgeous pinky champagne base with pink, gold and silver shimmer running through it. What I really love about this product is the glitter parictles are very fine so when on the face it doesn't look like harsh chunky glitter and just gives a really natural healthy "glowiness" to the face.

I think that this product has a good level of level of pigmentation - it is good enough that you don't have to use loads to get any kind of payoff, but is not soo strong that it is difficult to get a more natural look or risk over applying it to the face, so I think it would be perfect for beginners to makeup or newbies to highlighter much like my self. Having said that through this product is very buildable and so if you personally prefer stronger highlighter, I think it would work great for that also.

I usually apply it to my cheek bones, bridge of the nose, brow bone, cupids bow and if my skin is having a particularly dull day anywhere else I feel needs a little "pick me up". I will either use the Real Techniques Setting Brush and sweep the product across the areas on the face if I want minimal highlighter or if I want slightly stronger highlighting I will use the Real Techniques Stippling Brush and stipple the highlighter across the top of the cheek bones.

Overall I would say that this is a really great product and am extremely impressed especially considering it's so cheap! - the only down side is it's so bloody difficult to get your hands on, so I suggest if you see one "you snap that!"

What's your favourite highlighters? Let me know - it'll be a good excuse for me to buy some more! ;)

Would you Rather - Beauty Edition

So hey! Sorry it's been quite a while, I've been pretty busy with collage work so I haven't really had time to sit down and write a post that I've been happy with (there have been several drafts let me tell you!) I will be doing more posts soon though (I promise!) as a whole abundance of new products have found a new home in my makeup collection quite recently - with reviews and posts to follow!

So for now I thought I would do this tag for a bit of fun while I'm having a bit of writers block. so hear goes...

1.) Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks, and lip-glosses or lose all of your palettes and eye shadows?

Anyone that knows me knows that winged eyeliner and full mascara is a constant staple in my make routine and feel that no look is quite complete without it. Although I do love my palettes, you just cant compete with that kind of love; bye-bye palettes!

2.) Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?
Easy! Never cut my hair again. I made the mistake of thinking that my hair would look good kind-of collar bone length, I was wrong, I looked like an extra from "The Lion King". Bring on the Rapunzel locks!

3.) Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?
Pink; I don't really wear many coral blushes as I find they can wash me out as I'm so pale.

4.) If you had £1000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or makeup?
I think I find it quite difficult to do either and get all things that I'm completely happy with. I'm super fussy when it comes to clothes and how they fit, so to spend £1000 on clothes that I completely love would be a mission and a half! I could easily do £1000 on makeup, but part of me would be screaming "wasteful", can I split the money 50/50?

5.) Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner, or eyeliner as lipstick?
I'm gunna be clever about this and presume that coloured eyeliner is a pass, I think I could make Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Woodstock work as a lipstick.

6.) Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?
We can't really get Sephora here in the UK, however from reading blog posts and watching Youtube videos I would still probably say MAC, I recently got my first ever MAC products, which I shall be reviewing in due course, so for now all I saying is there is more MAC on my Christmas list this year! ;)

7.) Would you rather only use one eye shadow colour or one lip colour for the rest of your life?
One eyeshadow colour, definitely, I change my lip colour from day to day!

8.) Would you rather wear winter clothes in summer or summer clothes in winter?
Winter Clothes, Oversized Jumper are the one!

9.) Would you rather have dark nails or bright nails all year round?
Although I love my brights and pastel nail polish, I think dark nail polishes often looks more sophisticated and would "go" with a lot more clothing options.

10.) Would you rather give up your favourite lip product or your favourite eye product?
Favourite Lip Product, which is Clinique Chubby Stick in Whoopin' Watermelon - I think it would be quite easy to find a cheaper alternative for lips than for my favourite eye product which is of course Benefit They're Real (if you have any dupes I'd love to know!)

11.) Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a ponytail or a messy bun?
Ponytail, I think you could be more creative and varied, plus messy buns always fall apart where my hairs thick!

12.) Would your rather never be able to paint your nails again or never use lip gloss?
Never use lip gloss. if I'm honest I don't really wear lip gloss. Lip gloss is not a longhaired girls best friend, especially with the windy UK weather!

13.) Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all or sharpie them in everyday?
Sharpie Eyebrows! I think if I were to use and fine brown sharpie it would look half decent - well at least better than this:

14.) Would you rather live without makeup or nail polish?
Argh! I have written a previous post about my love for all things nails, however in this case the nail polish is in the bin. I love so many different types of makeup products, I just couldn't give them up for what is essentially just coloured nails.

So that was the Would you Rather - Beauty Edition. What would have you chosen?
